“I can now walk into a room of about 100 people and know everyone. This is the best move we have made.”
What made you choose to downsize?
Ann: “The small village in which we previously lived was quite isolated. We did not have to move, however, having witnessed older neighbours struggling to cope in the remote setting, we decided to downsize when we wanted to rather than when needs forced us. Moving can be hugely stressful for older people and is often delayed ‘until the time comes’. However, I feel that by the time does come, it is so often difficult to move comfortably. It is so important not to leave it too late.”
Why did you choose Bramshott Place?
Ann: “Bramshott Place stood out by a mile as being so much better than anything else we had seen and I have met so many lovely people. I can now walk into a room of about 100 people and know everyone, which I was never able to do before. This is the best move we have made.”
What activities do you get involved with?
Ann: “I take part in yoga and started the village’s first book club. I have always been a keen gardener and enjoy the communal garden, where people manage their own patch and grow shrubs and flowers. Brian and I also make regular trips to visit our pony stabled in Milland, and to London to go to the theatre.”
