Moving into a luxury two-bedroom apartment at Bramshott Place Village was the perfect step for Brenda and John Weeks, a fit and active couple from Derbyshire. And with an apartment right in the Clubhouse, they’re keen to make use of all the facilities available. “John swims every day”, explains Mrs Weeks, 71, “and uses the gym as well. He’s even signed up for table tennis! I get in there a few times a week. The facilities are fantastic.”

So how did the couple make the decision to move south? And why did they choose Bramshott Place Village? “Our daughter lives nearby,” explains Mrs Weeks, “and as we no longer have family in the Derbyshire area, we decided to make the move. We started looking at traditional bungalows in and around Liphook but then I saw Bramshott Place Village in a SAGA magazine and we thought we’d come and take a look.”

What was so attractive about the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Clubhouse apartment? “The light,” Mrs Weeks answers without hesitation. “When we came to look at the apartment it was a beautiful sunny day and the light was just flooding into the sitting room. It’s a really lovely, bright apartment. We were worried it was maybe slightly noisy, being right in the Clubhouse. So we came back the following day when Sunday lunch was being served and we couldn’t hear a thing! The apartments are very well sound proofed, so it’s really quiet and peaceful.”

Mrs Weeks continues, “In addition to the pool, we are also very impressed by the library and the bar, plus those Sunday lunches are very good!”

“We have absolutely no regrets,” she says. “Everyone here is very nice and we’ve made new friends. The drive back and forth to Derbyshire was getting too much. And now we’re local we’re getting to see much more of our grandchildren – all four of them – which we love.”

As well as the Clubhouse facilities, there’s a handy local shop, domestic cleaning service and laundry service plus a resident nurse and Village manager.
