Bramshott Helps Jamie's Dreams Come True
Date: June 2012
Bramshott Place Village residents were recently sent questionnaires asking their opinions about the facilties offered by the village, and for every questionnaire completed, £3 was given to Liphook based charity Dreams Come True, which arranges special treats and experiences for seriously ill children and teenagers. The excellent response to the questionnaires resulted in £300 being raised for the charity, which enabled a Dream Child to be chosen, and his particular dream realised.
He is 16 years old Jamie Connolly-Burnett, who comes from Gosport. Jamie suffers from a progressive neurological condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which means he has to use an electric wheelchair to get around, and a ventilator to breathe at night. His special enthusiasm is for gardens and flowers, and he is a keen plant pot gardener. However, Jamie has long cherished an ambition to go to the Chelsea Flower Show, a dream which is now going to come true, thanks to the Bramshott donation.
